about us
BeeWorthy Farms, Encinitas, Ca
We are a certified organic cut flower farm growing on 1-acre in Encinitas, CA on lands originally stewarded by the Kumeyaay people. The land we grow on is leased from the Encinitas Union School District. As such, we are not open to the public, except for guided experiences.
Starting on this land in May 2022, we developed farming systems that regenerate the soil, enhance space for wildlife, and promote a broad spectrum of pollinators. Our farming style is a little wild, with lots of planning and intention to support our efforts.
From ranunculus to foxglove and sweet peas to zinnias, we are constantly learning and observing the flowers that do best on our farm. We thrive when we respect and give in reciprocity to the land. By showing up, we give a bit or ourselves and in return receive the grounding and balance this space has to offer.

BeeWorthy farms recognizes and respects the indigenous peoples as traditional stewards of this land. Specifically, we recognize the Kumeyaay people whose ancestral homelands the farm currently occupies. We extend our respect and gratitude to the indigenous people who have lived on and cared for this land since time immemorial. As the original caretakers, we honor their continued legacy of understanding, caretaking, and upholding the pillars of biodiversity.

We are grateful to lease our farmland from FarmLab, managed by the Encinitas Union School District. Our farm is on the south side of the property. Their school farm is located on the north side where they grow for the school cafeteria. Lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, celery, broccoli, tomatoes and more!

Fresh Flowers: Certified organic cut flowers from spring through late fall, both bulk to florists and wholesale to local retailers (currently selling to OB Peoples Coop and Jimbos Del Mar and Carlsbad)
Dried Flowers: We take our flowers full cycle and dry them specifically to retain color and freshness. The everlasting flowers are sold arranged as both fall wreaths on our website and as small dried arrangements to local retailers (OB Peoples Coop and The Mighty Bin). Bulk sales coming winter 2023/2024!
Organic Herbs: We have modest amounts of fresh herbs available for local herbalists. We seasonally grow calendula, mint, lemon balm, comfrey, mullein, motherwort, chamomile, california poppy, and rose geranium.
Seeds: We save our own seed on select varieties and sell to San Diego Seed Company. We select for resilience, vigor, and color to help bring pollinators to gardens throughout San Diego!

We often get asked, do you sell honey? The answer is no, but we grow the flowers worthy of bees.
We are committed to growing in a way that promotes balance in our managed ecosystem. There are currently over 700 different species of native bees in San Diego alone! By leaving some weeds and allowing our flowers to go to seed, we provide habitat and food sources for our pollinator friends. Raising honeybees increases competition for these local food sources, so rather than grow honey we focus on growing habitat.
